According to the 2010 census, the population of the city is 65,275. Goodyear Ballpark, a new spring training facility was built in Goodyear and was the home of the Cleveland Indians in 2009 and both the Indians and Cincinnati Reds starting in 2010.
As the Southwest Valley's first super regional shopping center, Estrella Falls is poised to make Goodyear a prime regional destination. Spanning more than 300 acres, the entire project will bring 2 million square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment upon build out. Estrella Falls comprises a power center, super regional shopping center, expansive public spaces and parks, residential, office and hotel developments, and dynamic public art and entertainment.
Goodyear boasts numerous higher education learning facilities. Franklin Pierce University signed a lease with the city of Goodyear to purchase 30 acres of land. Other universities in close proximity include Estrella Mountain Community College, Arizona State University at the West campus, Grand Canyon University, Midwestern University, and Thunderbird School of Global Management.
